Getting married on the beach is a special moment that many women dream of. These ladies want to have a ceremony under the sun, on the shoreline, next to the water. There are many special sensory components to a beach wedding - from bare feet in the sand, to warm, glistening skin to flowing beach wedding dresses; although finding the perfect beach wedding dress is achievable, often it is time-consuming which can make the process feel nearly impossible. There are thousands of  formal dresses in bridal shops everywhere, however, most of them miss the mark in providing a bride with a "free-feeling" dress. Wed Threads aims to provide brides with everything from their wedding dress to beach accessories to swimwear for all activities throughout the wedding and honeymoon. 

Beach wedding dresses are usually easier to find in coastal states, where it is more likely that people will hold beach weddings. Many women travel to California, for example, to find sexy yet affordable beach dresses for their coastal weddings. The goal of Wed Threads is to remove this barrier by providing you with the perfect long or short beach wedding dress, right at your fingertips, without breaking the bank! Our products

Our Products Wed Threads is sourced from the concept of providing brides with sexy, informal beach wedding dresses that help define their moment in paradise. We do this while maintaining nothing less than the utmost quality that all women should expect for their special day. According to the Knot.com, the number of beach and destination weddings only continues to multiply. In fact, destination weddings have increased more than 20% over the past two years. Approximately 1 in 4 couples considered their wedding a destination wedding in 2010 and that number only continues to rise. However, though the market is growing, there is still a lack of bridal shops that have an extensive offering of original and designer beach wedding attire. We have especially noticed the absence of short beach wedding dresses. Our founders, Ian and Danielle Leath, ran into this exact problem during their wedding in St. Thomas in 2011. Danielle coveted a short dress for their nuptials on Magan’s Bay but ultimately had to design her own due to the lack of options. It was out of this difficulty and a dream for better beach selections that Wed Threads was born. Our company prides itself on originality in an over-saturated bridal market that tends to “miss the mark” in providing the right style dresses for women that want to take it easy in the sand.  Many brides-to-be dream of having a destination wedding in a tropical location, but they often find themselves at an impasse with finding the right dress. Due to the overwhelming offering of traditional, heavy satin dresses, many women settle with something formal that isn’t “them” and that is less than comfortable in the heat; others look far and wide for that casual beach wedding dress without any success so they end up shying away from the idea of a beach wedding altogether. This just isn’t right! Every bride, especially the beachy bride that wants a no-frills, fun-in-the-sun engagement deserves to be catered to and treated like a sun goddess!  Our vision is to bring you a comprehensive offering that provides all sorts of stunning styles. In addition to these gorgeous dresses, we carry an array of men’s linen shirts and women’s beach outfits, sundresses and accessories to satisfy every wedding and honeymoon desire. Our collection of both Wed Threads custom-made and designer dresses intends to satisfy the growing need for gorgeous, simple beach wedding dresses so that women can be comfortable, be sexy and just “feel…and feel free.”

Behind the Scenes at Wed Threads' First Shoot

In preparation for the official launch of our website, www.wedthreads.com, we spent the day yesterday at the beach getting shots of our gorgeous new line of dresses! Beginning of Wedding Threads...

Our moment in paradise was defined with an intimate wedding ceremony on Magen’s Bay Beach in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. It was a warm & sunny 80-degree morning on Friday, December 2, 2011. The anticipation, affection and love were at an ultimate high. We exchanged our vows and committed our lives to each other with our closest family, friends and the tropics all surrounding us.  Our one moment was perfect.  The only grief leading up to our day – it was nearly impossible to locate wedding attire tailored for tropical weather.  We had searched nearly everywhere:  online, retailers, boutiques and department stores but all apparel fell short in stylish, affordable wedding dresses and men’s linen shirts to feel comfortable on the beach. Days later while honeymooning in Tortola, sipping on rum concoctions and watching sailboats float by, it hit us: we realized there was a market for couples searching for informal beach wedding attire for destination weddings. The rest of our story is in the making – we are on the quest to provide couples, just like us, with quality wedding threads.
